How do you chose where suits go?

We have networks across the country we have been tapping into with the majority of our suits to date going to lower decile schools. If you have a group that would benefit from second suits please let us know.

This is a great idea - how can I help?

Fill out a contact form and we will take your name. We need volunteers to drop off and collect bins, sort and send out suits. We are a 2 man band working full time with young families so any help is gratefully received.

I have a wetsuit where can I drop it off?

We are not taking drop offs right now. Until we have a physical space we are collecting through organisations. We are working  on a longer term plan to have permanent locations in major centers – watch this space.

My wetsuit has a tear in the back but it still does the trick - why won't you accept it?

We want reasonable quality suits that work to keep people in the water longer. Equally we are trying to keep suits out of landfill so acquiring suits we can’t use and having to dump them isn’t cool. Our longer term plan is to find a use for suits that are not fit for purpose.

I have a use for repurposing old wetsuits, can I get some?

For sure – No doubt some unfit for purpose suits will slip through the cracks. Let us know what you are after and what you are doing with them and we will see if we can help.

Do you recycle wetsuits?

Unfortunately not - Internationally there are programs to recycle wetsuits. Wetsuits can be crumbed into new raw material that can be used for the creation of things like soft fall matting in playgrounds or yoga mats. Currently the technology does not exist in New Zealand to crumb wetsuits, largely due to a lack of demand for the recycled product. Our mission is to stop Wetsuits going into landfill, so until we have an end solution for buggered suits we are only taking suits we can redistribute for use. If you have a use for old wetsuits  for upcycling or crumbed neoprene  in large quantities we would love to hear from you.
