How it Works

It’s pretty simple. We put Second Suit bins in collection points for you good folk to donate your perfectly usable Wetsuits. We will give them to those who otherwise would not be able to get in the water and enjoy it.

Step 1

Register your workplace or organisation to be a collection point for a Second Suits bin (register here).

We will be in touch to find a suitable time to deliver your new collection bin.

Step 2

We'll send you some communications to send out via your channels. You can update your contacts when your bin will arrive, how it all works, and a few more details on the types of suits we'll accept.

Step 3

We drop off the bin at your workplace.

Step 4

When drops are made, donors can optionally submit details on themselves and the suit. If someone opts in, we will do our best to let them know where their suit ends up.

After an agreed period (or when the bin is full) we will come and collect the suits and the bin.

Step 5

We sort the suits and send them out to our partners located around NZ, who will find your wetsuit a new home.

Suits we want

Until we find a recycling solution for wetsuits that are no longer fit for purpose, it’s important that we only take suits that can be used by others. Before you drop us a suit ask yourself, “would I wear this again?” We want suits that work, which means no tears or holes, working zips and seams in ok condition. The idea is to enable others to spend time in the water so please, if you are donating, make sure the suit is in ok condition!

So what’s that old wetsuit in your cupboard up to?
